This report talked about the news that Chinese government punished the person who were connected to ugly character in Maths textbooks. This report said that “this is not the first time that there have been sensitivities in China towards cultural content depicting the Chinese people.” And it also said that the praising towards new cartoons on Chinese social media are what government buy.

To my opinion, I think the new cartoons are much better than before and the old cartoons are actually too ugly. I also think that some people on the social media are too sensitive, which makes them difficult to understand the reality of things. The old cartoons are agly but I think it doesn’t have any connection with the education of those textbooks. The reason of children’s failing isn’t the textbooks. The only problem in this event is why government passed these ugly cartoons and whether there were some profit connection in it.
